Amritapuri is gearing up for the 58th Birthday Celebrations of Her Holiness Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. The Birthday celebrations will be held at the premises of the Amritapuri campus of the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. The celebrations will start at 5.00 a.m. on September 27th.
For the past 58 years now, the world has been blessed with the loving, compassionate touch of our beloved Amma. The number of hearts Amma has touched is impossible to say. Her tender embrace has literally consoled millions upon millions. Each September 27 , the anniversary of Amma’s birth, the world over resounds with prayers of gratitude. I would like to extend to you a heartfelt invitation to participate in this year’s celebrations, which will be taking place on Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27 of September in Amritapuri, Kollam District, Kerala.
Thousands of people from throughout the world make the pilgrimage to Amritapuri in order to be in Amma’s presence on this auspicious occasion. Furthermore, the Mata Amritanandamayi Math will take this opportunity to extend the reach of its charitable humanitarian services. I sincerely hope you will be there.
The campus is organizing various events for the Amma’s birthday. A car-free rally is organized by the college for promoting of Amala Bharatam Clean up Drive, where students and faculties will join the hands for a cycle rally. It is going to be conducted on 2 days – 22nd and 26th of September. Amrita Sanjeevini is organizing various events like street drama, directed by Marat, a student of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and a state award winner for best short film director. Amrita Sanjeevini will be taking care of plate washing during the birthday. Team Mindscape, a small group of students, is putting up a stall for exhibiting Sanatana Dharma.
